Monkey Butt nails!!!

Hey guys! After my cupcake post a few days ago, I got to walking around my house again looking for inspiration, and I found it in a strange place! Our bathroom! I think the origin of me calling our son "monkey butt" was because while I was still pregnant we decorated what then was to be our sons bathroom in monkeys. We have since moved and now the main bathroom is the one we share with him, all decorated in monkeys! Target is awesome ;) So anyway I did today's nails after the shower curtain we have :D We also have towels and everything else in the bathroom that matches ;)

So I was a bit disappointed when I looked at the pics, I smudged the black from the faces a bit, and it's my own damn fault. I did the noses the wrong way, so I went back over it with the nude color and did the noses over again, and I guess I didn't wait long enough before my top coat :( BUT it's still adorable!

The green background on these is Color Club Twiggie, two coats and it was good to go. The blue on the two nails is Zoya Jo (man she's gorgeous!) two coats of her as well. The brown for the monkeys is Kleancolor espresso, yea I know I use this a lot but it's my only brown! and the nude is Zoya Shay. Oh and you guessed it! My two favorite nail art tools, dotting tools and long skinny nail art brush!

So how do you think I did? Does it match well enough?

BONUS!!! My super amazing monkey butt! This was at the park yesterday, he was playing with one of those dog poop bags, don't worry, it was empty! lol

Until next time! Happy painting!

Pink Butterfly Wings

Hey guys! Here today with something I'm sure most of you have seen before, but this is my first time doing it! Butterfly wings! It seems to be a pretty popular nail art, and since I'm starting to see butterflies out and about I figured it was about time I try it out too :)

For this mani I started with two coats of Finger Paints pop rock pink, holy gorgeous! It has a subtle pink micro glass flecks in it and is seriously beautiful! I then used a nail art brush to make my lines, then filled in the outer area with the polish brush, added a few white dots with a nail dotting tool and done! Super fun, cute and pretty easy as well :)

Cupcakes!

Hey guys! Today's post is fun! I walked around my house looking for inspiration, and I found it right away in my kitchen! I got this adorable little decorative plate at Ross for $3.99 that has a cupcake on it, and for those of you that don't know, my kitchen is decorated in cupcakes :) So I copied the plate and was super pleased!

For this super fun mani I used 2 coats of Funky Fingers queen cupcake on all 4 of my nails excluding the ring finger, which I used two coats of Zoya shay. The pink dots are OPI flower to flower, the brown are Kleancolor espresso, and then just white. Using the same colors I made the cupcake on my ring finger to match the one on the plate. I've always been a fan of the browns and pinks together, I think it's gorgeous, so it's about time I put it on my nails!

Peaches and Creme

Hey guys! Today I wanted to do something with spring colors, but was at a loss of what to do, so I went looking through my colors and got the idea for peaches and creme! I have a few peach type colors, and I thought they would look good together, I was right!

For this fun and easy mani I used two coats of white, then sponged on three different shades of peach, I started with the darkest and went to the lightest. The first one I used is Funky Fingers taffy town, second I used Finger Paints circus peanuts, and last I used Julep Hayden. It turned out to have nice depth, with still having good bright color :) The first picture is flash, second is natural light.

Antique Roses

Hey guys! Here today with another fun spring mani! For this one I cheated a bit, I went to YouTube to check out the Cute Polish page for some inspiration. I thought the cute antique roses worked well for spring!

So this is super easy, you need a base color, a green for the leaves, and two pinks, reds or whatever color you want to use for the flowers. For mine I did two coats of Finger Paints blue raspberry taffy, geez this is a gorgeous blue! For the flowers I used (the lighter pink) Funky Fingers queen cupcake, (the darker pink) Finger Paints pop rock pink, and the green leaves are China Glaze entourage.

I really like it, it was quick which I always like and it looks very classic! You could make it super funky with some bright colors for the flowers too, I may do that later ;)

Mmmmm Jellybeans!

Hey guys! Here today with yet another iconic Easter treat! Who growing up didn't get jellybeans from the Easter bunny? I know I did all the time! So that was my inspiration for today's mani :) What are you favorite brand of jellybeans? I LOVE the Starburst ones!

So for this mani I didn't start with a base color, just went right in with the jellybeans, I used 6 colors and I'll name them off :)

Red- WnW everybody loves redmond
Orange- OPI a good man-darin is hard to find
Yellow- Zoya pippa
Green- China Glaze entourage
Purple- China Glaze grape juice
Pink- OPI flower to flower

I randomly placed the colors until my nails were all full of jellybeans and then I was done :)

What do you guys think? You can jellybeans now right? ;)

Spring Robin's Eggs

Hey guys! Here today with another spring mani! It's that time of year that we start seeing birds building their nests in the trees that are all sprouting bright green leaves, spring is my favorite time of year! It's awesome waking up and hearing the birds chirping with the sun out :D call me corny if you must, but I love it! It gets too hot here in the summer, so I'll take all the spring I can get!

My inspiration today was robin's eggs, or maybe just another type of birds egg in general. I started with two coats of China Glaze shy high tops, I sponged on Zoya Jo, China Glaze first mate, and Funky Fingers Mrs. mint, and wrapped it all up with some random sizes of dots (to represent speckled eggs) with Kleancolor espresso.

First pic is no flash and the second is, wanted to show the different dimensions with the different blues that were sponged on, it looks really pretty!

Bunnies and Chicks!

Hey guys! Here today with another super cute and easy Easter design! Bunnies and chicks :) I wanted to do something that was spring/Easter themed but that wouldn't take me all night, and I figured this would be quick (ish anyway) and easy :)

I started with two coats of Essence nail art twin Romeo, it made me a bit sad not to use the gorgeous glitter Julia with him, but he's the only grey I own! I then used Zoya pippa to make yellow dots (just using the nail polish brush) then used a long skinny nail art brush to make the shapes of the shells the chicks would be coming out of, filled them in using the brush. For the bunnies I just used the brush for the heads and the long skinny nail art brush for the ears. I finished all of them off with facial features and tada! All done :)

This has been making me smile all morning. I'm sick (boooo) and have been for about a week. Long story short my son got sick from the new sitters sister, he ran a high temp during his nap last Thursday, had a febrile seizure because of it, and after he was fine the next day, turns out he has a cold and an ear infection (my poor monkey butt!) and now the old man and I have the cold as well, yay! lol, so yea my nails have made me smile a bit :D

What do you think?

BONUS!!! You get to see my monkey butt and I ;) this was from last week before we all got sick, I love him! Do you think he looks like me? I don't see it :P He looks just like his daddy!

Starry Spring Night

Hey guys! Here today with something a bit different! Last night it was beautiful out, in the 60s a few whispy clouds here and there and lots and lots of stars! For those of you that don't know, I'm a little bit obsessed with stars, and they have a lot of meaning to me, I even have 4 star tattoos :) So last night's sky was my inspiration!

I started with two coats of Zoya indigo, made a big full moon with a dotting tool in white, sponged on some white clouds, sponged a little bit of grey over the white moon, using a dotting tool I used white and silver to make some small dots randomly to represent stars, then finally I sponged on a little bit of OPI DS shimmer in a few small spots to give just a little bit of bling.

It was super easy, and fun, something for me that means spring yet it's not in the normal pastel colors. Yay for being different!

Matte Easter Eggs!

Hey guys! Easter is apon us! Only 17 days to go! April 8th is Easter for those that don't know, and then my birthday is on the 12th :D I'll be a whopping 28 years old! *shock* So today's post is on another iconic childhood memory, dying and decorating hard boiled eggs!

This is a bit of a skittles mani, with different colored pastel colors :) My thumb (that you can't see lol) and pinky finger are Finger Paints lemon sour, my pointer finger is Funky Fingers Mrs. Mint, middle is Funky Fingers queen cupcake, and ring finger is Funky Fingers sugarplum fairy. Using my two favorite tools, my long thin nail art brush, and a dotting tool I made the "decorations", which I tried to make a little different on each one. Once I was done I topped it with Sephora by OPI matte top coat.

An Iconic Easter Treat, Peeps!

Hey guys! Here today with another Easter inspired nail art mani :) I was trying to come up with something I hadn't seen before, so while in Walmart yesterday I walked down the Easter candy isle, and what do I see? Peeps! I've gotten these yummy marshmallow treats in my Easter basket since I was a kid, and when the old man makes me a basket, I still get them! I looked at the colors and I knew what I would do!

The four colors I found were bright blue, bright yellow, bright pink, and a lavender. So I figured a green base behind them would work out great :) I started with two coats of Color Club Twiggie from the Poptastic collection. The yellow on my thumb and ring finger is Zoya Pippa, the purple on my pointer finger is Sinful Colors verbena, the blue on my middle finger is Finger Paints blue raspberry taffy, and last but not least the pink on my pinky (heh) is Sinful Colors cream pink.

I just used a long thin nail art brush to make the outlines of the bunny peeps, then carefully filled them in with the brush from the polishes. Used a nail art tool to dot the eyes and noses on and done! The same nail art brush I used for the outlines I used for the word "Peep" too, I made it too big and couldn't fit the "S" but oh well :P

What do you guys think? I think it's super cute!

Until next time! Happy painting!

Spring Has Sprung!!

Hey guys! St. Patrick's Day is over and it's time to move onto even more spring themed nails! Today, the Easter bunny came early!! What are you most looking forward to this Easter? I'm looking forward to trying to teach my 22 month old monkey butt how to dye eggs...this should be fun! :D

The Easter bunny and his eggs came for a visit on my nails today! I started with one thick coat of Kleancolor catch me, and using only two sizes of dotting tools, and a long thin nail art brush. Just like some of my other designs I've used a lot of colors, so I'm not going to name them all off, BUT if you would like to know a certain one, I'll be more than happy to let you know!

Jody from SoFlaJo is doing a nail art contest on her Facebook page here and this mani of mine is in it! Care to throw a vote my way? "like" her page, then comment on my photo daily to give me a chance to win!

Connect The Dots

Hey guys! Sorry about the lack of a post yesterday! I got a bit distracted with class and family stuff :P But today I bring you my one and only Lynnderella! This was the only one I was really lemming and I just got it in the mail this week.

I know there has been a lot of drama involving these polishes, and recently someone duped CTD and is selling it, but I have tried staying out of it! CTD is a unique black and white glitter layering polish. There are black and white bar glitters, large black hex, med. black and white hex, small round black and white, small square black, micro black and white, and an even more micro shimmer. It looks great over just about any polish, but I wanted to use one of the others I got in the mail this past week.

I started with two coats of Funky Fingers Mrs. Mint, a beautiful mint blue/green, in the bottle it looks like there is a slight gold shimmer but I was unable to see it on my nails, maybe in the sun but not with my eyes or flash of the camera *pout*, then I added two layers of CTD on top :)

Let me just tell you Mrs. Mint is a b***h to photograph!! It either looked more green, or more blue than it really is, ugh. The best and most accurate picture I was able to get of it was with my cell phone (it'll be the last picture).

What do you guys think? I'm extremely happy I finally got one of my biggest lemmings! :D

Until next time! Happy painting!

Green Ruffian, Happy St. Patrick's Day!

Hey guys! Happy St. Patrick's Day! Everyone is Irish today, so go have a beer, wine, or liquor of your choice, (those that are of age of course) and make sure to wear green so you don't get pinched!

Today I'm getting on the bandwagon of the ruffian style nails. Instead of just doing the two colors I took it further and I've used 6 different greens for this one! A few of my fellow bloggers have done these recently, so I cannot say that I came up with the idea on my own!

I honestly didn't realize I had as many greens as I do until I was looking through them to do this mani :P I'll start with the very bottom layer (the one closest to my cuticle) and work my way down.

Milani- 511 hi-tech
China Glaze- starboard
China Glaze- he's going in circles
Snowman polish- green
China Glaze- paper chasing
China Glaze- entourage

I freehanded all of these with just the polish brush, so they are not perfect by any means but I think they look pretty good! Oh and my light box isn't big enough for all the polishes so you see the sides of it lol whoops!

What do you think?

Until next time! Happy painting! and happy St. Patrick's Day!
