MMMM Cotton Candy! Water Marble!

Hey guys! Today we have a childhood favorite, cotton candy! Why you ask? I visited Diamond Candles website today because I wanted to order "Carnival Candy" candle which had a picture of cotton candy on it, well they were sold out BUT it gave me today's idea :)

I broke out the water, cup, wooden cuticle pusher, and polish out! I started with a thick later of white as a base, taped my fingers up and off I went! Today's colors are China Glaze it's poppin, and sky high top. China Glaze cremes are AWESOME to use for marbles!

I was a bit mad at myself...I hit my thumb while it was still in the water with the wooden stick, so I have a messed up spot but I didn't want to re-do it :P Overall I'm very happy with it! The pink and blue mixed in some areas to make it look purple, which was what I was going for!

So who wants some cotton candy!?

Life IS all rainbows and butterflies today!!

Hey guys! Here today to make the grumpiest of you smile! People always say "life is not always rainbows and butterflies so get over it" or something along those lines. Well I'm turning it around, and today it IS all about that!

It makes me think of a Maroon 5 song **swoon at Adam Levine!** "Life's not always rainbows and butterflies, it's compromise that moves us along..." if you haven't heard the song click here to watch the video :)

I started with a thick layer of white, then sponged each color of the new Finger Paints gumdrops and lollipops collection on. These polishes are sooo pretty! I had to have all 6 of them! I switched the order on every other nail starting at the top on one, then the bottom for the next to keep the eye moving. I finished with a stamp from this cheapy little kit I got for Christmas.

It was also a gorgeous day out, so I took pics outside today :)

From left to right we have pop rock pink, circus peanuts, lemon drop, choco mint, blue raspberry taffy and grape gumball.

What do you guys think? I really loved this one and it made me smile every time I looked at it :)

Lily of the Incas (flower) nail art!

Hey guys! Today we have more fun spring nail art! :) My mom and step dad sent the old man flowers after his dad's passing, and instead of being sad about it I got inspired.

One of the flowers in the bouquet is called lily of the Incas. It's white, pink/fuchsia and yellow. It's just beautiful, and I wanted to try and recreate it on my nails! So I started with a base of white, sponged on some yellow (Zoya Pippa) then sponged on some pink (OPI too hot pink to hold em) and finished off with a metallic pink (Zoya Izzy) for the lines. It turned out exactly how I wanted, so I had to take pictures with my inspiration!

What do you guys think? I think it's super pretty, and super easy too! So win win ;)

Oh and this was the bouquet that my mom and step dad sent, beautiful isn't it?

Rock on! Guitar and music nail art

Hey guys! More nail art today! I seem to be on a kick with wanting to do art recently :P This was one of my "failed" attempts at a dotting tool nail art entry for the contest I talked about yesterday. Yep it's all done with dotting tools, and probably why I'm not so happy with it haha, but a few friends thought it was super cute so I thought I would share it here :)

I started with two coats of Funky Fingers melted popsicle, then used a hot pink and hot teal for the different symbols. My thumb has a treble clef, my pointer is a guitar, the middle and ring finger are supposed to be wavy lined sheet music, and the pinky finger has music notes.

Ice cream of the future, dippin dots!

Hey guys! Today we have something a little bit different! Sarah over at Chalkboard Nails is doing a nail art contest (entries in by March 5th!) and you can only use dotting tools. I tried a hand full of things that I wasn't too fond of and then did this, it's simple but super pretty (IMO anyway :P ) I know that there are many others better than mine, but I wanted to participate anyway :D

I got to thinking about Dippin Dots, and my favorite flavor of them is banana split, so it was like a light clicking on, and that's what I decided to do!

Using a light pink (Zoya Jenine), light yellow (julep Blake) and mixing a dark brown and white, along with just the white I patiently sat and made dots for what seemed like ever. There is no base color here, just my nails with the base coat so yes it took a while :P

What do you guys think? I love them!

Deborah Lippmann Across The Universe

Hey guys! Here today using my first Deborah Lippmann! I did these in between baking cupcakes, I'm a multi-tasker ;) I'm making pineapple upside down cupcakes for the party to celebrate Dave's (the old man) dad, and since it was his favorite cake I figured I would do cupcakes for the party :) Yes there will be pics at the end ;)

So Across the Universe, omg it's beautiful! There is a dupe of it made by the Icing, but it's pretty hard to find now, so I just went for the original! This is three coats with no underwear (heh that sounds funny), I added an opal colored ribbon on my ring finger in remembrance of the old man's dad, because we lost him to lung cancer.

A quick public service announcement, PLEASE PLEASE PLEASE stop smoking if you do, and urge family to do the same, not only did we loose him to lung cancer, but my best friends mom as well less than two years ago. These two people were amazing, and left us all way too soon. Please do it not only for yourself, but you children, and families as well.

So what do you guys think? I think it's a beautiful polish, and the cupcakes look good, and according to the old man taste good too (I hate pineapple so that's good for my diet!)

Cherry Blossoms nail art

Hey guys! Today spring has sprung on my nails!! Some of you don't know, but I'm from the coast of Virginia, and Washington DC was only a few short hours away. For those of you that haven't seen DC in spring, put it on your bucket list, no kidding, do it! The cherry blossom trees are all over the place in DC, a present from Japan, and once they bloom they are absolutely gorgeous!

So the old man and I were talking about me missing DC and how beautiful it is there, and tada the idea to do cherry blossoms came to mind!

I started with a white base, then used two coats of Sinful Colors Cinderella over it. I used a dark brown for the stems, and a light pink and darker pink for the flowers. I used a nail art brush for the stems, and a dotting tool for the flowers, just kind of randomly dotted them around the stems, using the light pink first, then the dark pink after.

What do you guys think? I am in love with it!! Perfect for spring :)

Nubar prize and white polka dots

Hey guys! Today we have my favorite color! Pink! yay :D

I just received my first set of Nubar polishes in the mail (I had one from a blog sale but no others), I got both black and white polka dots, and the prism collection.

I used two coats of prize, and since I did it at night no sunlight pics :( BUT it is beautiful!

Ready for spring! Leopard nails

Hey guys! I'm going to start off with a quick funny story...we have an old house, there are cracks and little holes in the wall etc...saw what my old man describes (after he heard the story from me lol) as a "monster" running and hiding behind the stove...freaked me out because I wasn't expecting it! Well I set the no kill (I'm not a fan of killing cute little furry things, unless it's a cow or chicken because ommm nom nom) trap with some cheddar cheese in it. Later that night I hear it moving around in the trap, tell the old man to get a box so we can go release it in a field down the street. Soooo we put it in the box, and of course I want to see it. It's a super cute little brown mouse, and holy hell it scared the living day lights out of me! That sucker almost jumped completely out of the box, I had NO idea mice could jump like that. Needless to say the old man thought it was hilarious, and honestly I did too...so there is your laugh for the day ;) There will be a pic of it at the end :P

So anyway, spring! I know it's a bit early but it's been a pretty mild winter were and flowers are already blooming. I wanted to do something fun and girly in spring colors. I choose to use Picture Polish Jade as my base color, I used WnW ink well for my black stamping, and the pink is China Glaze it's poppin.

Two coats of jade were used, took a pic in the sun to show the beautiful subtle shimmer *swoon*, it's a beautiful polish!

What do you guys think?

Oh and here is the mouse, in mid jump haha, this is what it did when I jumped about 3 feet backward!

Butter London black knight

Hey guys! Sorry it's been a few days since I posted last. We have been dealing with some sad family things, Dave's (my old man) dad has been battling lung cancer for the last year and a half and lost it Friday :*( We are happy that he is no longer suffering but very upset to see him go. We just hope that he is looking down on us now :)

Sorry about the emotions there...it's nice to get a little of it out! So today's polish is Butter London black knight, hardest polish ever to photograph!!! Gah...it's gorgeous, my photos do NOT do it justice what so ever, so that means you *have* to go buy it on your own, k? ;)

This is two coats btw, and yes it does give you glitter herpes!

So what do you think? I love it!! It's only the second ever BL I own and now I'd like more!

Mardi-Gras themed nails

Hey guys! Today's post is a bit of a cheat, I got them done :P Funny thing is I needed to do clean up when I got some *SMH*. Oh well.

So anyway we went to a Mardi-Gras themed party so I wanted my nails to match. It's the right colors and not too out there, and I liked it. The purple color is China Glaze C-C-Courage, which I believe is in Wizard of Oz collection? It's a really pretty color!

What do you think?

I also got my hair done (just a trim and a few highlights) and did my eye makeup in Mardi-Gras colors as well. Hard to see in the crappy cell pic, but you can see the gold and purple under my eye. :)

Happy Valentine's Day!! More nail art :D

Hey guys! Happy Valentine's Day! Today is the 4th anniversary of the day my old man and I met :D Not our first day dating but first day we met, so it's special for us :)

So for my nails today I wanted to do something different, not something I had seen done before, and well I think I accomplished it!

So my base color is Glitter Gal red holo, the bigger pink hearts are Glitter Gal fuchsia glitter, the smaller hearts are Loreal check me out, and then it's just boring ol white for the letters. I used dotting tools and a long skinny nail art brush (just for the lettering)

I really really love this! For those that don't know, SWAK is sealed with a kiss :D I did smear the W a little bit but other than that I think it looks awesome! What do you guys think?

New blog look, and more Valentines nails!

Hey guys! First things first, how do you like the new look of the blog? The lovely Sarah at Chalkboard Nails customized it for me :D She has recently done Chelsea's page over at Pretty and Polished as well!

So for today super simple Valentine's Day mani I used the same SH Coral Reef from yesterday's mani for my base color, I added OPI DS shimmer over it and then on my ring finger used nail art brushes and dotting tools to spell "love" in Kleancolor metallic pink, and added bling into the hearts of course ;)

I was trying to get all fancy and write "love" the way I do when I sign cards with the big pretty L and all...but uh, evidently cursive doesn't translate well to nail art for me! So just ignore that, k? ;)

Oh and for you cupcake lovers out there, I made homemade chocolate chip cookie dough cupcakes last night too ;) So here's a pic for you to drool with ;)

Super cute Valentine's Day nail art!

Hey guys, back today for another Valentines Day mani! This one took me foreverrrrr so I really hope you guys like it!

I started with a base of OPI DS Reflection (2 coats) then using nail art brushes and dotting tools I made Xs Os hearts and kisses with white, Sally Hansen Xtreme wear Coral Reef, and Essence Nail Art Twins Gabriella. I'm not even kidding when I said it took forever either, ha. Good thing my kiddo was asleep!

I am super happy with it!! I love it :D I'm excited to go out and show it off ;) What do you guys think about it?

Valentine's Day / Anti-Valentine's Day mani

Hey guys! As some of you know, I love nail art, but I'm not the best at it. So I figured I would do something easy that said "Valentine's Day". Well I got to thinking about it, and I have a few friends that are anti-Valentine's Day so I thought I could do both :)

On my left hand I have OPI Flower to Flower, with OPI white shatter on top. On my left I have Sinful Colors Gogo Girl with OPI black shatter over it. It was super quick and easy, and cute too! Forgive my right hand...cleanup is never quite as good, and I didn't put my cutile cream on until after, whoops!

What do you guys think? What side are you on? I'm pro-Valentine's Day, because my old man and I met for the first time on V-Day :)

Nail mail, my first Deborah Lippmanns!

Hey guys! Sorry it's been a few days since I've posted. We have some bad stuff going on with the old mans family, so if you pray please keep us in your thoughts and prayers.

So enough of the depressing stuff. Some of you know and some of you don't, but DL was featured on Good Morning America, and that day the three polishes I'll be showing you were half off, and free shipping! So I got three DL polishes for $28!! You cannot beat that, I'm too cheap otherwise haha. I guess they ended up getting slammed with orders and it took foreverrrrr for the polishes to get to me. So when they did, freaking FedEx has bad timing. I was napping and that's when they showed up, of course right? ;) Anyway I found it amusing how big the box was for these three polishes :P

So here they are!! We have Happy Birthday, Across The Universe, and Today Was A Fairytale. Okay and let me tell you, TWAF (that looks bad) says "virgin diamond glitter" was in it...what the crap is that you ask? Yea no idea! Anyone else know?

Then I also got a little bit of mail from the bestie too, she sent me OPI DS Saphire, a Milky Way (shame on me!! I'm dieting, haha so much for that!) and a chocolate masque, which I've never tried so I was excited!

Soooo did I use the chocolate masque you say? Why yes, yes I did. And there was enough left over to put it on my old man too...will I show those pictures to you you say? Yes I will! Will he hate me you ask? Yep...probably haha, but oh well ;)

Sinful Color Glass Pink and I'm Feeling Nail-Venturous Dash of Princess

Hey guys! wow that was a long title...haha but today you get not one, but two polishes for the price of one!! But wait there's more...sorry I'm channeling my inner infomercial right now ;)

Anyway, Sinful Colors Glass Pink is super pretty! It's in a new display that I found at Walgreens. It's a baby pink with tons of tiny glass flecks in it, it took three coats to get it the color I have it in the pictures.

Dash of Princess was made by the amazing Amy over at I'm Feeling Nail-Venturous I used two coats over the Sinful.

China Glaze Water Marble

Hey guys! Today is extra special, I'm actually pleased enough with my water marble to show it!!

Recently I was able to get my hands on (well more like the Ninja was) 6 of the China Glaze Kicks collection. These colors are awesome, seriously you NEED them, k?

I used one of the pinks, a green and a blue to do the marble. They aren't perfect BUT I think they look pretty damn good! I used a white base before dipping into the marble and then tada, beautiful nails they all the chicks at my gym were all talking about (seriously like 6 girls asked to see them).

Onto pics, for some reason my left hand ended up being more blue and green even though I did the exact same thing, weird right? But they still looked great!

What do you think? What colors or brands have you found that work well for marbling?

January and February Julep boxes

Silver and hot pink stamping

Hey guys! Have some stamping today...not the best in the world, but quite a few people liked it so I figured I would post it :)

I used Orly silver mist (2 coats) and stamped with Kleancolor metallic pink.

The plate I used was out of this little gift set that I got for Christmas from Rite Aid, I think Target has it right now? Some major chain store does, it came with 5 plates, a stamper, a scraper and a plate holder. Not bad for $10!

It's a bit messy because it's only the second time I've ever done a full stamp, but I love the hot pink over the silver, and I also love the pattern as well :)

Manglaze Matte Is Murder and Hot Mess

Hey guys! Here today with my first Manglaze polishes!! I got these beauties from Ace over at The Polish Lab, she's doing a fundraiser with polish, and all the money goes to charity :) I bought quite a few from her ;)

I've been drooling over Manglaze on Facebook for a while now, and for some reason I just hadn't gotten any, there is now a big need to add quite a few to my wishlist ;)

So with this mani I did two coats of Matte Is Murder, and then one coat of Hot Mess over my ring finger, for a little bit of bling! I'm not a really dark person, but damn did I feel hot wearing this!

Voodoo Doll

Hey guys! Yep you heard me right, Voodoo Doll! That's the name of a franken done by the amazing Amy at I'm Feeling Nail-venturous. She has recently made some other amazing frankens that she has in posts on her blog, but as of now she has decided not to make an Etsy store for them. I also received another one of hers called A Dash Of Princess, which I'll wear here soon too :) Yay the PLOP ladies are awesome!!

Anyway I was already wearing ManGlaze Matte Is Murder (flat black) on my nails when I got the frankens in the mail, so I just used it as a layering polish. This is a full coverage glitter with about three coats, but I was impatient to get it on right away! Oh and btw the ManGlaze post will be tomorrow ;)

This is two coats of Voodoo Doll over two coats of Matte Is Murder.

It's it amazing?? I love love love it! What do you guys think?

Holy gorgeous glitter batman!!

Hey guys! Here today with a special treat! The gorgeous Chelsea over at Pretty & Polished sent me a mini of one of her brand new frankens called Carni for review. For those of you that don't know, Chelsea is the queen of dusty hunting (most of my silver cap China Glaze have come from her) and she also has an Etsy page with all of her amazing one of a kind works of polish art!

So looking at this polish in the bottle, I figure it would be a full coverage glitter with a few coats, but I still wanted to show each on it's own as well.

The glitter is pink blue and purple small round, with a few big pink and blue hex glitters, and a few medium silver hex glitters. I love the little pop of a big glitter here and there, it makes it more interesting in my opinion.

It went on quick and easy, no sliding around of the glitter like a lot of others (with the exception of the biggins, but that's to be expected), it actually dried a lot faster than I was expecting as well. The pictures go in order from one coat to three. I LOVE this on it's own, but it would be beautiful layered too!

What do you guys think of it? I think I'm gonna blind people with my blingy nails in Zumba and in class tonight ;)

OPI Linkin Park After Dark Suede

I scored this beauty off eBay for $12.99 + shipping. I thought that was a pretty good deal!

This is two coats and no top coat.

Julep dots

Hey guys! Today I'm going with easy nail art! I honestly don't remember what blog I saw this on, or I would site her! This was NOT my idea! But I did use it :)

So for today's nails I used the three colors I got in my December Julep box! All you need is a straw!

I used two coats of Helena, and using each end of a normal straw dipped it in Kim and Chloe and added circles, half circles etc.

What do you guys think? At first I wasn't too happy about it, but then I did clean up and it grew on me :)

Silver Holo comparison

Rivka Miranda, silver holo day 4

Hey guys! Day 4 :) Rivka Miranda is a Brazilian holo from an entire set Rivka put out. From what I understand it's been discontinued, but I was lucky enough to get this beauty from one of the girls in my PLOP group :)

This is two coats, it went on great and dried pretty fast too!

OPI DS Coronation, silver holo day 3

Hey guys! Day three here :) This is DS Coronation, not really HTF but as far as I know it's not one of the current DS polishes.

This is more of a scattered holo, took two coats for full coverage. I think it's really pretty but it's not something that would turn my head from across the room, but would I give it up? Probably not ;)

OPI DS Shimmer, silver holo day 2

Hey guys! Day 2 of silver holo week :) Today is OPI DS shimmer. As far as I know this beauty is HTF, but I have an amazing bestie who is also polish obsessed and she sent this to me :)

This is more of a top coat kind of holo, too thin on it's own. This is three coats on my naked nails. It makes my nails look a bit more yellow than they are but eh, I'll get over it ;)

What do you think? I've used this two other times, over a neon yellow, it was amazing! And as part of my galaxy nails which turned out 100% better than I had imagined!

Nfu-Oh 61, silver holo week!

Hey guys! Today is going to be day one of 5 of different silver holos, followed by a comparison post at the end ;)

Today we have Nfu-Oh's 61, I thought I would be disappointed honestly, because in my bottle it looked like it wasn't very holo at all, after drying it was a different story!! I used three coats because it was a bit lumpy and streaky. I also don't have aqua base so these pics are with no base or top coat.

Zoya Robin, with OPI Pink Shatter

Hey guys! Here today with what I'm calling my cotton candy shatter mani :)

I used two coats of Zoya Robin as a base, then one quick coat of the OPI pink shatter. I'm a fan of the OPI shatters, they normally spread pretty well, and quick too!

What do you guys think? I rather like how it turned out, the pink has a slight shimmer in it and would be beautiful over many colors :)

OPI DS Signature

Hey guys! Here today with yet another holographic polish. Who doesn't love a good holo?? I know I can't get enough! This beauty is OPI DS Signature, it's a pinkish purple and to just die for!

I used two coats, and topped it with a coat of SV, the edges of my nails might look a little weird, I forgot to wrap my tips until the end :P whoops ;)

Anyway enough rambling, onto the pictures!

Color Club foiled collection

Hey guys! Here today with an entire collection, so that means lots of pictures! We have the "foiled" collection from Color Club. The boxed set comes with 6 colors and a clear top coat. One of my polish girlies found it for me at Ross for $8.99 :)

All of these polishes I used two coats, and a top coat of Seche Vite. All of them are beautiful! I'm not a big fan of the tanish one on my skin since I'm so fair, but it would be perfect on a darker skinned lady!

Anyway we will start with the pictures. The order the pictures are going in are cold metal, foil me once, perfect mol-ten, antiquated, hot like lava, and lumin-icent.

What do you guys think of these? Do you have a favorite? I think Cold metal and Hot like lava are my favorites :)

OPI Catherine The Grape

Hey guys! Back with another dusty hunt find. I had never heard of this polish before, but I was given a heads up to look for it, as it's a HTF OPI. When I found a brand new bottle in a salon I snatched it right up!

It had separated a bit in the bottle and needed a good shaking, and it still is lighter on the bottom, but I guess that tends to happen when it's been sitting so long!

I used two coats then my top coat, this is also another hard to photograph polish, as most purple hues tend to be. This is more on the plum side to me and has a very pretty sheen to it.

China Glaze Grape Juice and Orly Gumdrop

Hey guys! Here today with what I consider a fail lol...I saw a "dry brush" technique that a girl in PaA had done and I wanted to try it out, evidently my way of doing it wasn't as good lol...but whatever live and learn right?

I used China Glaze grape juice as my base, two coats, then dry brushed on Orly gumdrop on the top halves. I really like these two colors together, but not the way they are here lol.

Grape Juice has this beautiful sheen and shimmer to it that I was unable to capture in pictures but it is a MUST have polish! I also can't wait to dry gumdrop on it's on, its a beautiful color as well! Both can be found in the normal displays, they aren't in special collections :)

China Glaze Flying Dragon

Hey guys! Here today with a not super well known China Glaze called flying dragon. This beauty is in the normal China Glaze displays at both Ulta and Sally's.

It's a neon purple with little blue flecks in it. I wouldn't call them glitter because they aren't shiny but they are obvious. I used two coats of this polish, and without top coat it's a bit matted like a lot of neon polishes tend to be, so I took some pictures with and without top coat hoping that even with the flash you would be able to tell the difference.

The first 4 pictures are with no top coat, the 5th the pointer and ring finger have a top coat and middle and pinky do not, and in the 6th picture all have a top coat.

All 5 new Finger Paints flakies, and sparkle top coat!

Hey guys! Recently I was able to get all 5 of the new Finger Paints flakies, as well as the new sparkle top coat. My Sally's was nice enough to pull them out of the back for me before they were even supposed to sell them, so yay me :)

I heard that some people were getting them on discount, which was actually a mistake on Sally's and I guess lucky for those that did find them, but I paid full price, well with the Sally's card of course lol

I didn't want to swatch all five individually as that would have taken me FOREVER, and who has time? ;) So I did one on each finger, so this post will be pic heavy, but they are worth looking at!!

I have a base of WnW ink well (just one coat) and two coats of each of the flakies as well as my SV top coat.

From thumb to pinky we have motley, flecked, twisted, flashy, and asylum. All the pics are in that same order :)

After I had done all of that I decided I wanted to try stamping with one of the plates that came in a little stamping set I got from Rite Aid for Christmas. I don't actually have any "stamping" polish like the stuff Konad makes specifically for it, so the white isn't as opaque as I'd like it. This was also my first time doing a full stamp, and other than my thumb I think I did a pretty good job :) After I was done stamping I did the new Finger Paints sparkle top coat over it. It's really beautiful and fully worth the price! But it was hard to capture in pictures :P

So what are your overall thoughts on these new flakies? I haven't been a fan before now, but I honestly love all 5 of them!!

Revlon Whimsical

Hey guys! So a few days ago I went into Kmart hoping I would be able to find Revlon's whimsical, and I found two! Yay for me and the bestie!

Then I get home to look up swatches only to find out it needs a base coat...well crap. I don't own any pastel colored polishes (unless pale pink counts) it's crazy right?! Looks like I need to get in on this new Zoya collection!

So anyway I tried a few polishes I had as bases and just didn't like how it was coming out, I really wanted the blue base of the polish to stay that same color, so by suggestion from the bestie I made a quick franken. I used my 2/3 bottle of Finger Paints paper mache, added 8 drops of China Glaze first mate, 8 drops of China Glaze turned up turquoise and threw in some loose holo glitter and I was done. Too bad the glitter looks good in the bottle but doesn't show on the nail lol.

So anyway I ended up being able to (with the franken) to keep the color of whimsical :D I used two coats of my franken, and 3 coats of whimsical...I'm not going to be able to touch anything for hours, but damn it looks good!

What do you think? I've heard through the blog grapevine that this will be in the core line soon, so if you haven't found it yet you will soon! Keep and eye out at Kmart and Bed Bath & Beyond :)

The polish thief!

Hey guys! Special treat today!! I haven't shown pics of my polish thief in a while and I have some pics, so I figured I would spam my monkey butt today :D For those of you that don't know his actual name is Brendan, and he just turned 19 months old on new years eve. He LOVES my polish, and if I ever leave it out to where he can get it, he points says "yea yea yea" and screams when I hide them. Who knows, maybe he will be a famous makeup/nail artist? lol

Anyway this first set of pictures was from before Christmas, I had gotten & polishes from Leah Ann over at Llarowe for being runner up in her scavenger hunt on her page, I lost by only SIX seconds, so she wanted to give me a consolation prize, she is such a sweet woman!

He went with me to the mail box and sat eagerly waiting on me to open them. He took them all off the table and put them on the floor, and when I put them back on the table he had a fit!! lmao I have no idea why but it made me crack up...is it horrible to laugh at your kid? ;) :P

This second set was recently when I got the three China Glaze Ulta exclusives that Lyncia sent me, at least my kid has good taste!!

Nicole by OPI Respect the World matte

Hey guys! I recently broke out one of the mattes in my stash, this beauty was found at Walmart randomly on a shelf, I had never seen it before but *had* to have it. I told the old man that he could put it in my stocking, which he did ;)

I used two coats of this beautiful polish, and should have waited to take pics in the sun because with the flash it looks a bit more blue than it actually is. It's more of a teal color, but honestly it doesn't matter what color it is, it's beautiful!! I didn't use a top coat because I'm not to thrilled with the matte one that I have, so I just went without to show the effect of the polish :)

Oh and this post starts with the new camera ;)

What do you guys think? I LOVE it! I think it's similar to the OPI suede polishes which is never a bad thing!

Color Club Beyond the Mistletoe

Hey guys! Today we have another Color Club polish, this one is from the holiday 2011 collection (the non-scented ones anyway lol) and once again I was lucky enough to get this in a Ross set from the amazing Rhonni for $10 plus shipping!

This is the first of the set that I have used...I know I'm slackin! I have sooooo many untired polishes it's a bit overwhelming to be honest!

All of the polishes in this set have holo glitter as well as colored glitter, they are all individual and beautiful!

I used two coats, and once again these pics were taken with the old crappy camera, I'm sorry!

Hey guys! Here today with one of the Color Club Poptastic colors :) I was one of the lucky ones that was able to find this set at Ross for all of $12.99! This is the 3rd or 4th in the set that I've worn and I really like all of them! But then again I'm a big fan of bright colors ;) I'm not boring by any means I tell ya!

I used two coats, and just like most neon colors it was very hard to capture the accurate color of this polish, but it's close enough :P These pics were also taken with the old camera before I got the new one, what can I say I'm trying to catch up on all my swatch pics!

OPI Coral Reef

Hey guys! This is another one of my dusty finds, want to know the kicker? I got it FREE!!! there was hardly any left, and it was so thick I had to add a ton of thinner, but I'll be able to get a few uses out of it!

The woman at the salon told me that would have been thrown away O.o for shame!!

Since after using the thinner it was still so thick it only took one coat. The label on the bottom is coming off, but even without the full label I knew what it was ;)

This baby tricked me!! I thought it was just a champagne/yellowy color...yea well there are little silver glitters in it too! I honestly thought while I was painting I had done a horrible job taking the facets of fuchsia off lmao!

OPI My Private Jet

Hey guys! This was another one of the dusty finds the same day as my Blue Moon Lagoon yesterday, it's not the holo version BUT I do have that one as well and will be posting shortly ;)

Took two coats to get it this color, and even though a lot of people refer to this as the "yuck brown" version, I love it! The funny thing is, I'm not really into browns either lol

OPI Blue Moon Lagoon

This blue is very light, and I only used two coats, I could have used three but honestly who has time for that? lol

New Years Eve nails, happy 2012!!

Hey guys! Happy night before 2012! Hope everyone has a fabulous night tonight, but please make sure to have a DD if you plan to drink! Please have fun but stay safe!!

We will be staying in since there is no such thing as being able to find a sitter on NYE lol...we might go over to the old man's families house (where everyone ends up at some point during the night) but I'm undecided if I want to try and put our son to bed there or wake him up :/

Anyway I wanted to do fun nails even if I didn't leave the house all day!

I used Wet N Wild ink well as my black base (one coat) then I sponged on Color Club gingerbread in a gradient tip, did the same thing over the golden color is China Glaze shooting stars. On my ring finger did a "2012" and a firework with a rhinestone in the middle in silver. Tada! It's quick, easy and beautiful!

What do you guys think? Looks like I'll see ya next year ;)

OPI Chatters Me Up "cranberry sparkle"

Hey guys! Here today with a special treat! OPI Chatters Me Up, is a Canadian exclusive offered at Chatters salons. For Christmas I was lucky enough to be involved in a secret polish santa, and Kayla from Kayla Shevonne as my Santa!! So she sent me this beautiful polish! Funniest thing for me was that the old man and I were just talking about this polish the day before I got it from her lol

I don't even know how to describe this polish other than beautiful!! I did two layers of the OPI then did a sponged glitter gradient of Sally Hansen Gem Lady Luck on the tips. I have dubbed this "cranberry sparkle"

Hey guys! I'm working on using untried polishes still, and I was told I needed to use Tristam by A England. It's very similar to Lady Of The Lake which I posted about here but it's a bit more blue.

Anyway I'll get on with it, I only used one coat, I know it's that awesome! I then used a stamp that I got in a little generic stamping set that I got at Rite Aid (still really cute and it worked!) on just my ring fingers with China Glaze OMG.

Pictures you say? Yes ma'am!!

What do you guys think? The stamp looks a bit better on my right hand but I still think it's gorgeous!

Haul, and my first Julep box!

Hey guys! I hope all of you had a very merry Christmas! And I hope Santa was good to you all! He was to me!! I got a new laptop and a new vacuum (I asked for that lol) from my love :D

Anyway, on the 23rd I needed to run to the store for diapers for my monkey butt, and I stopped by Sally's on the way to see if the new Finger Paints flakies were out. THEY WERE! I got all five, and also got the sparkle top coat :D

I also put an add up on Freecycle a few days ago, and got a bunch of polish (27 in fact) but I'm only keeping 8.

Then on Christmas eve I got my first Julep Maven box (that I only paid 1 cent for with a recent promotion they were doing)

So I have all of those pictures to share with you!!

From left to right we have **btw I THINK I have these in the right order lol** Asylum, Flashy, Flecked, Motley, Twisted, and the Sparkle Top Coat.

From left to right we have, Finger Paints Mulled Cider, Easel Come Easel Go, In The Vault Violet, Orly Gold Rush, Merlot Mist, Flagstone Rush, Silver Mine, and LA Girls Metallic Pink.

So that's my first Julep Maven box...I'm pretty pleased with it!! The colors are Helena, Kim, Chloe, and a fast dry top coat :)

Merry Christmas!!!!

Merry Christmas!!! Hope everyone is having a fabulous day!! Santa treated us great!! :D No complaints here! I even got a few polishes in my stocking ;)

So last night in prep of today I did a "Santa" themed mani with his jacket on all of my nails. Just a fun easy but still festive way to celebrate the day!

I started with two coats of China Glaze ruby pumps, added a top coat, then used some nail art brushes to make the white "fur" type lining of the jacket, and the gold belt buckle. I tried to make the white lines not super straight, but not all over the place, sort of like a soft fur would be :P

oh and btw sorry my clean up isn't too hot! I ran out of acetone :*(

I think it turned out cute! What do you think?

Snowlady nails!

Hey guys!! It's Christmas eve!!! I hope everyone is having a great holiday season so far! My old man has family staying with us, so let me tell you, doing my nails and my blog is keeping me sane right now ;) But as I said a few days ago, I cannot wait to see our monkey butt's face with his mini quad!

Last night I decided to do a snowman, which ended up being a snowlady :) No inspiration here, just going off of pretty colors and what a snowman looks like lol.

As my base I used China Glaze frostbite (the polish is beautiful, but be prepared to have a nose plug, it smells HORRIBLE!!!), topped four of my five fingers with China Glaze snow globe, OMG it's beautiful!!! Then proceeded with my snowlady on my ring finger :) Too many steps with that, but you get the drift ;) I was squealing about this, no joke! I love my little snowlady :D

Holographic Christmas Tree and Snowflake

Hey guys! I was only planning on one post a day until Christmas, BUT I forgot I hadn't done a Christmas tree!!!

I got TMI from the China Glaze OMG collection in the mail today, and I just thought she was too beautiful not to use right away!

Once I did my nails, I was just feeling like there needed to be something Christmas on them, so I grabbed my OMG and a nail art brush :)

Oh and in this month or so that I didn't post, I acquired some new polish, check out my stash list!

Retro snowflake nails!

Hey guys! I'm back with more fun nails for the month of December! This time I went to YouTube and to Cute Polish's page for inspiration! She did a simple snowflake mani that was super cute, so I wanted to try it!

I feel like after I was done it looked sort of retro 60s-ish so I've now started calling it the retro snowflake mani :P

I used OPI russian navy suede as my base, Kleancolor catch me for the "snowflakes", added a little touch of glitter here and there, and topped it with a matte top coat to keep my suede the way it's meant to be! I really liked the color combo with these two, verses the light blue and white (I don't have a baby blue, can you believe it!?)

Dr.'e Remedy holiday collection review

Hey guys! I feel like crap! I got all these beauties last month, and forgot about doing my review because of getting soo busy :(

But better late than never right?!

I must warn you, there are a lot of pictures because I am IN LOVE with all of these!! I like these best out of the summer and fall lines, they are all gorgeous!

I'll start you out with the first that I tried, which was Revine Ruby Red. Most of you know I am NOT a fan of reds, but when this one is called ruby, they mean it! It is beautiful! I'm going to tell my mom she *needs* one of these since ruby is her bitrhstone ;) So anyway, the only problem I had with this is the brush was super tiny, it wasn't like that on any of the others so I'm not sure what happened but it made it a little hard to apply. I used two coats here and it covers great!

They describe it as: A shimmer-infused Wizard Of Oz inspired shade of crimson.

Next up we have Passion Purple, it's a beautiful plum purple (to me anyway lol) with a very slight hint of shimmer. I think this color would be great year round! It took three coats, because only two made it a bit streaky, but three was perfect. The brush was much better than the ruby red and I have no problems with it.

They describe it as: A bombshell boysenberry with subtle silver meshed throughout.

Next we have Essential Emerald. Omg this green omg! When I got the email about the new holiday colors, this was the one that really caught my eye. It's a mix between an emerald and a jade green, it looks much different inside with lamps, than it does outside in the sun! It took two coats, and just like the purple, the brush was great and I had no problems.

They describe it as: A take on the classic tree and plant inspired gem of a shade, with delicate glimmer and unparalleled amounts of glamour.

Now onto the glitters!!! woohoo, who doesn't love a little holiday sparkle! I'll start with Resolution Red Glitter. First off let me start by saying it's not red, which wasn't a problem for me!! It more light pink than anything with tiny red glitter flecks mixed in. But oh so pretty!!! it could have been good with one coat, but I used two for good measure. It also dried super fast which is always a plus!

They describe it as: A red meets copper spin that's a sequin look alike laden with high shine and sparkle.

And last but definitely not the least! We have Serene Silver Glitter. Omg!! So this one is silver, BUT there are also light purple and blue flecks as well! I thought the green would be my favorite but this one took it by far. Just like with the red glitter this could have been a one coater, but I did two for good measure, it dried fast and went on smooth.

Holiday glitter nails!

Hey guys! Like normal I was digging through my untired polishes trying to come up with something I could do that would be festive for the month of December.

I ran into China Glaze twinkle lights and decided I *had* to use it!

I started with a base I've used before, but was perfect to layer under China Glaze twinkle lights, it's Finger Paints scenery greenery, and was a perfect green to match this gold/red/green glitter. I used my tweezers to hold a small piece of a makeup sponge and I did a gradient tip with the glitter. I'm not huge into any of these three colors, but I loved this. I even put it on my Pintrest and had a bunch of people repin it! Too bad my blog wasn't attached ;)

Holographic Candycane Nails

Hey guys!! We are SUPER close to Christmas, and I can't say that I'm not excited!! I cannot wait to see the look on my monkey butt's face when he finds his mini quad!! And mommy knows she has some polish in her stocking, so yay!!

Today we have a red holographic candycane inspired nail!

So the red is Glitter Gal red holo, and it's beautiful!!! Thanks again Leah Ann from llarowe!! I then used a thin nail art brush with white to try and alternate small and medium sized stripes. I really really like this! I'm not huge in to red, but I wore this proudly!

Gingerbread man inspired nails

Hey guys! Once again in keeping with the Christmas theme, I decided I wanted to do something along the lines of a gingerbread man, without being too literal!

I went through my untired polishes and came across two that I thought would be perfect, so off I went!

As a base I started off with two coats of OPI you don't know Jacques suede, then I used Color Club gingerbread man on the tips, using a small nail art brush I used white to look sort of like frosting, and the red and green to resemble the buttons on gingerbread men. I thought it came out pretty cute! and I am in love with the suedes!!

Holographic Christmas Presents

Hey guys!!! I know I have been gone wayyy too long! BUT on a good note, I am DONE with my AA, and have school off until Jan 17th! :D :D :D

I've been doing my nails plenty just haven't posted any blogs, as I've been getting online from my phone mainly.

So I'll start off with the Christmas themed nails I've done before the season is over ;)

So for today we have Holographic Christmas Presents! I wanted to do presents, but didn't want to use all red and green, so what a great time to try out 5 untired colors!!

I only had one picture from before putting the nail art on, and it's from my phone so forgive me for the quality!

So from my thumb nail to the pinky nail I used Hits No Olimpo Hera, Hits No Olimpo Ares, OPI DS Original, Hits No Olimpo Poseidon, and Hits No Olimpo Atena. I then used a thin nail art brush to make the bows, added a silver rhinestone in the middle of each, topped it with SV, and tada!!!

I loved this, and wore it for three days :D

Hey guys! I'm so sorry I haven't been posting! I have been slammed with school recently, with it being the end of the semester and all, finals are next week! Along with school there has been some family things going on that aren't so good :( And of course with the holidays coming up things have just been crazy!

I did just update my stash list, I've recently gotten some amazing polishes and I'm super excited to use them! I've also started trying some new Christmasy designs, so once finals are over I will for sure be back and with lots of posts! I have tons of pictures that I need to upload and get posting on :)

Wednesday dusty hunt!! EPIC!!!

Hey guys! I have thus far not had very good luck with dusty hunting, and it turns out, I was just going to the wrong salons!!

Today I had epic finds!!! I got all of these from THREE salons, amazing right!?

From left to right we have China Glaze, OMG, 2NITE, IDK, visit me in prisim, sour apple and shooting stars.

From left to right we have,dazzle me, blue moon lagoon (one for sale) sanderella, Catherine the grape, MPJ, Austin tatious turquoise, ds elegance and coral reef.

Everything I found today is either HTF, VHTF or discontinued! I am so excited and proud of myself, looks like I ended up having a good day :D

Dr.'s Remedy Fall Fever 2011 polish review

Hey guys! I'm here to review some more of Dr.'s Remedy polishes! I got these a little less than two weeks ago and it's taken me forever to do my review, I'm sorry for that!

The fall colors consisted of three shades, two reds and a blue.

"Fall 2011 will be fierce: leaves will change, for sure, and temps will follow suit. But the real news relates to the hues of the season. They describe Defense Deep Red as a rich bordeaux with a mystifying matte finish.

I do like this red,it's very vampy! It took three coats to achieve a color I liked, but it's not a matte finish by any means. I was actually really sad about that. I didn't use a top coat to show the true colors of all three of the polishes. It went on smooth, there is a smaller brush which actually IMO makes it a bit easier to not be so messy!

All pictures were inside, with flash, artificial light. I'm sorry the clean up is horrible!! Reds are really hard for me to work with, and I didn't realize they looked so bad :*(

They describe Balance Brick as a modern maroon with body and balance.

This red took two coats and is my favorite of the group, I'm not normally a big red person but I do like it :) Just like the others it went on smooth with no problems, and obviously clean up with a lighter red was a bit better ;)

All pictures were inside, with flash and artificial light.

They describe Nobel Navy as a sea-at-dusk shade that reflects light and brings dimension to tips and toes alike.

This blue will be perfect for the rest of my semester at the college I attend, it's one of our school colors! This one like the last took two coats to achieve the color in the bottle and went on smooth. It reminds me of a beautiful clear night sky :)

Day 15, Wet N Wild 24 Carats

Hey guys! Day 15 (although today is actually day 16! sorry!!) and we are still moving right along!

My old man says to me "use something...orangish" so I had to look to see if I had anything of the sort lol...Wet N Wild 24 carat was close, it's gold and orange. It's one of the new color icon colors they have out, and I didn't realize it was bar glitters...I'm not a fan, BUT I'm wearing it anyway :P It took two coats, and is going to be a b***h to get off!! Glitter herpes as Rebecca calls it!!

November Birchbox

Hey guys :) No nail mail today, but I did get my November Birchbox! Best part? There was supposed to be a mini Zoya, so we shall see if I got one!

For those of you that don't know, Birchbox is a company that sends out these cute little boxes once a month with really awesome samples (most of the time of really high priced fancy stuff! check out the prices on the card in the pic below!), it's $10 a month and it automatically charges and ships to you. Just a little surprise beauty box once a month :)

The items are in order of how they show on the list :) The perfume came with a postcard, and it smells sooo good! But then I saw the price of it and was like O.o so we might have to pass on that one! I took two pictures of the LaROCCA skin care to show that it has little tiny sparkles in it, and I'm stoked about the Zoya! Not only did I get a polish, but it's pink! woohoo!

Day 14, Orly Sterling Silver Rose

Hey guys! Two weeks in! ekkk! I have marked off 15 untired polishes in 14 days, that's not too shabby!

For day 14 I used a polish I just got on Sunday, Orly sterling silver rose, it's so pretty!! It took two coats, because one was just a little streaky. But I'm in love with it! Such a sweet pretty pink to make people think I'm innocent...mahahah!!!

I went to get my brows waxed and I found the first OPI on the left, brand new, unopened and I had never seen it before, so it had to be mine! The rest I got all at CVS :)

Day 13, China Glaze Crystal Ball

For day 13 I used China Glaze crystal ball, it's a deep red scattered holo. It took two coats to get it the color I have it in the pics. I forgot to take pics the night I did my nails, and also forgot to wrap my tips, so sorry about the tip wear!! SV will always do that to me! :P

Day 12, Essence Nail Art Twins, Romeo & Julia

Hey guys! Hope everyone is having a fabulous weekend! I had a pretty laid back day, but tomorrow we have grown up plans! Baby is going to the sitter to give mommy and daddy some free time! yay! So we are onto day 12! Wow! Almost two weeks in already!

These beauties I order from one of the PLOP ladies a while back (Ruth you rock!!!) I got them along with any of the other twins she could find me! lol! It only took one coat of Romeo, and one coat of Julia! score!! I took pics of Romeo by himself, then with Julia on top (haha), I hadn't done clean up with Romeo so he's a bit messy!

What do you guys think? I'm in love! Romeo by himself is blah, but with Julia O.O yep...love!

Day 11, OPI DS Reserve

Hey guys! Day 11 it is, bring it on!!

For day 11 I went with another OPI DS, this time Reserve, this was also one of my dusty finds a few days ago, and seeing her stare at me on my desk I *had* to use her!!

She could have been a one coater, but I did two for good measure, not being a dark color and all. She like most of her DS sisters has a beautiful scattered holo. Too bad for me it's been crappy out and I can't get sun pictures :(

Day 10 I decided on OPI DS Extravagance, it was one of my dusty finds a few days ago! I actually have Ulta's Material Girl as well, which is a dupe, BUT I had to have the OPI as well!

It only took one coat of this beauty! woohoo for a gorgeous one coat polish! It's been rainy and nasty out here for a few days, so sorry about all in inside pics!

Day 9, Zoya Phoebe

Hey guys! here we are at day 9 of the 30 days of untired polishes, I'm starting to think I should do this again right after this 30 days lol.

For today I choose to use one of my first matte polishes, that I just got in the mail yesterday! Zoya Phoebe! It a beautiful vibrant blue, only bad part is I can't put a top coat on it, so I had to do a touch up already! wahh wahhh. It took two coats to get it how I wanted it, and it dried really fast!

With the sun going down so early now, and me not getting out of classes, there are going to be less and less shots in the sun :(

Zoya nail mail!

Woohoo, more nail mail today! Zoya nail mail! I don't have many Zoya polishes yet, so this is super exciting :D

Around Halloween there was a code for two free polishes, just pay for shipping, it only lasted a day and I used my email, and my old man's email to get four (shhh don't tell on me *wink*) and I got all four of them today :D

Monday's nail mail and haul

Hey guys! Today my old man and I took our little man out to get groceries at Super Wal-Mart (shhh it's cheaper! lol) and on the way out the door I spotted a few silver caps in the display at the nail salon, in I went!

I ended up getting OPI DS reflection, OPI DS extravagance, and OPI DS reserve, woohoo!!

I also needed to swing by Walgreens and I picked up Sally Hansen xtreme wear rockstar pink, hadn't seen this one before and had to have it.

When we got home I had nail mail from Chelsea! woohoo! All 7 are China Glaze, from left to right we have GR8, he's going in circles, kaleidoscope him out, don't be a square, and rated holographic. The two extras are a Christmas present for my bestie Jessica :)

I'm super excited to be adding so many more silver caps to my collection!!

Day 7, Fantasy Makers Black Magic

Hey guys, one week in already and slowly but surly I'm marking off polishes from my untried list! We are onto day 7 :)

So for today's polish a friend of mine told me to do black, well plain black is so not an untired, BUT I did have my Fantasy Makers black magic, I did swatch it last month along with the rest of the Fantasy Makers, but I didn't actually wear it, so I figured it counted ;) It took two coats :) Sorry about the crappy pictures, I wasn't able to get any in the sun and evidently I didn't get the pink off from yesterday very well lol!! You can only see it in the picture and not in real life, weird huh?

Day 6, Color Club Warhol

Hey guys! Sorry again about the day late post! I was busy this weekend :P We are onto day 6!!

For day 6 my old man picked out Color Club warhol, a super bright in your face neon pink! This is right up my alley ;) It took two coats to get it the same color as in the bottle, but went on easy :)

Day 5, OPI Merryberry Mauve

Hey guys, onto day 5 of the 30 days of untrieds! Organized my melmer, helmer whatever you want to call it yesterday and just grabbed one out of my untired drawer and this is what I got :)

OPI merryberry mauve, it's really a bit shear, I did two coats, but it really could have used three, but hey I didn't want to wait for three to dry lol. I'm not sure what color family this one would fall into, but it's pretty. Very subtle.
