New Years...Kind Of?

Hey guys! I hope everyone had a great Christmas! Here today with a sort of New Years themed mani, the colors are but the stamp...well you can decide!

My old man picked out a silver and gold metallic polishes and said do something with these lol....well my brain is fried so I kind of had no idea what to do!

I started with two coats of Essie As Good As Gold, and two coats of Pure Ice Silver Mercedes on alternating nails, I then used Sinful Colors Black on Black and Bundle Monster BM-320 for the stamp. I've loved this one since I first got them but this is my first time using it :) Once I was done I topped it all with China Glaze Fairy Dust.

Like I said New Years colors for sure, the print? Well who knows, but it's still fun!!

Pinterest Inspiration Week, Day 5, Rainbow Candy Cane.

Hey guys! Here today with day 5 of Pinterest week, only two days left to go! Then my fall semester starts *dun dun dunnnnnn* today's pin is here, and the original posting is here. Now let me say that I thought this was just amazing and after seeing who is was done by it made sense! I couldn't believe I was trying to do one of her manis!

But alas I tried it anyway, even though I'm not that great with stamping *yet*. So for this one I started with two coats of white then added my fast dry top coat, which recently has been the Color Club one that comes in the box sets! It doesn't tend to shrink like SV does, which I love!

Using Bundle Monster plate BM-301, China Glaze Fly, China Glaze Entourage, China Glaze Sky High Top, Zoya Pippa, Essie Orange It's Obvious, and Julep Anne got to stamping. I just swiped the polish on half of the stamp with either color before scraping and stamping onto my nail. It didn't all come out perfect but I was pretty happy with how it came out.

I love this look for summer, it's fun, airy and light!

Neon Summer Starfish!

Hey guys! Here today with some more neon nail art :) This design comes from Sarah over at Chalkboard Nails, she has the tutorial for it here.

This was much easier than it looked, or it least it was in my case :P But it was too adorable not to recreate it! I did decide to use the same color scheme as Sarah because let's face it, she's one of the masters at this kind of thing, so I couldn't go wrong, right?

So I started with a base of Kleancolor Funky Yellow, I did have to use 3 coats to get it so it wouldn't be streaky which is a bit of a pain, but the super bright highlighter neon yellow is worth it! For the starfish themselves I used Essie Tour De Finance, and the blue spot on the starfish are Funky Fingers 220 Volts.

Just like my last mani, the color isn't 100% accurate even though I tried as best I could. Anyone have advice on photographing neon polishes? The pink and blue are color accurate, but the yellow isn't.

What do you guys think? Have you tried any of Sarah's designs?

Until next time! Happy painting!

Summer Fun Challenge, Fun In The Sun!!!

Hey guys! Here today to regretfully say that it's the last day (or post) of the Neverland Nail Blog's summer nail art challenge *womp womp* BUT I'm super excited to see what everyone has done! Today's theme is fun in the sun, anything goes!

The last few times that I've been in WalMart I've seen this pair of shorts, booty shorts that I would never wear mind you (well if I was skinny yea haha) but still. The print on them is very much me. I'm not sure if you guys saw the post last time where I got my idea from a piece of clothing from WalMart but if not, you can see it here.

For this mani I used OPI The Color of Minnie, Essie Orange It's Obvious, Wet N Wild How I Met Your Magenta, and Color Club Almost Famous. I used a makeup sponge to individually sponge on the colors randomly on each nail, it took a while but I think it paid off! After the sponging was done I used Sinful Colors Black on Black and a small dotting tool to draw on all of my leopard spots, covered with a quick dry top coat and done! Clean up was a bit of a pain because I was like my 2 year old coloring outside of the lines, but it's all good ;)

I'm still experimenting with my lightbox, the light filters, backgrounds etc, so be patient! Hopefully I'll have something set in stone next week on what I like best. The dark color seems to work better than white, so I think I'll be off to a craft store for black card stock!

Here's a pic with flash to try and show you a bit more of the difference with the colors :)

And here are the shorts that inspired this fun mani!

Summer Fun Challenge, The Big Blue!

Hey guys! Back today with day 6 (or post 6) of Lindsey from the Neverland Nail Blogs summer fun nail art challenge. This time was the big blue, ocean or wave nail art.

I wanted to do a marble, but since I just did one for pool party I decided to try something a little different. I wanted to try using my nail art fan brush, which coincidentally Lindsey also did a tutorial on here. So my plan didn't quite work how I wanted and I kinda wish I would have left it alone lol, but to no avail.

I used Orly Gumdrop and Essence Nail Art Twin Bella as my two blue/green colors, and I tried to make the lines a bit wavy to look like waves, good right? Yea it looked pretty good but then I decided to add sand *womp womp* and it's meh to me now :P The sand is Nubar Spark, and the surf board is Essie Orange It's Obvious.

The first pic is no flash and is more color accurate, and the second pic is in the exact same location in the light box with no different settings, this is my first world pain!!! The old man told me today he is going to build (as in not just a cardboard box, tissue paper and crappy light haha) me a new light box **yay!** so I'm hoping sooner than later I won't have this problem!

What do you guys think? Fail or not too bad?

Until next time! Happy painting!

Summer Fun Challenge, Hot Hot Hot!!!

Hey guys! Today I have post 4 of the Summer Fun nail art Challenge from Lindsey over at Neverland Nail Blog. I just like last time had an idea that I ended up changing because well, it would have been pretty much impossible since I don't have a mirror polish lol

So for today's challenge I did started with a base coat of white, and did a gradient from yellow to red, the red turned out more pink because of the white base, but I'm okay with that! Yellow I used Zoya Pippa, Orange I used Essie Orange It's Obvious, and the Red is OPI The Color of Minnie. I then used one coat of OPI DS Shimmer (my pointer ended up with a thicker coat) to make my hot gradient sparkle!

I then used ManGlaze Matte is Murder with a nail art brush to draw on the flames, and filled it in with a dotting tool, hence why it's kind of lumpy. I wanted this contrast because I thought it would be awesome! Holo flames and matte black mmmm.

Shooting Star Tape Mani

Hey guys! Yes I know I'm posting today!! I've been super busy with family and school, but only a few more weeks left until summer break then I'll be back to posting more again! This past weekend I had the photoshoot that some you helped me win, she did post a sneak peek picture of my shoot if you wanted to see it here. I'll get the rest of the pictures in about 3 weeks :)

Anyway today's post is a tape mani! I started with two coats of China Glaze Gaga For Green, on my pointer finger I used a star sticker, you know those little ones teachers use, the other three I used striping tape, I did one thick layer of Essie Tour De Finance. A lot of my fellow bloggers did a tape mani today too so make sure to check out their posts below!

Until next time! Happy painting!

Feeling blue...

Hey guys! Last night I was a bit upset (to say the least) about the score I got on my first math test of the semester, a 66!! O.o I'm president of the honor society for God's sake and I get a D, wth...*sigh* so I decided to do my nails blue.

I've been very good with using only untired polishes recently so yay :) I use Essie beach bum blue on all my nails, then on my ring finger I did a double tape line, the light glitter is Kleancolor sparkle emerald, and the dark blue glitter is Kleancolor puppy love.

Honestly I was a bit disappointed in the sparkle emerald, BUT I know it's because the base color for it is very similar to the Essie!

The Essie is a bit streaky, but I'm assuming it's because it's a foil polish and they all seem to be that way, but over all I'm happy with how it turned out :)

What do you guys think?

Until next time! Happy painting :)

The mini polish lover

My son has decided he is a polish lover. Fine with me in all honesty, that would just give momma a reason to buy more polish later in life ;)

But seriously it seems as if every time I leave polish on the table he seems to snag it and run! haha my silly child.

I caught some pictures of him playing with them from about a week ago and I figured I would share :) he's playing with Essie protein base coat, and Orly fantasea.

I love my kid :D <3

Grape to meet you!

So this weeks Monday mani challenge was to do something fruit related. Seems easy to some of us, and hard to others. Since I have the fimo fruit pieces I just figured I would do something cute with those.

So I was going about getting different colors together to go with the different fruits, and I was looking through my untried polishes, sooo many purples!

And **bam** like Rick James bitch slapping me across the face, it hit me!

GRAPES!! I can try out all these purples and be creative doing different colored grapes! Even the old man said it was a good idea ;)

So here are my grape nails :D Sorry it's not the best picture, my camera is in the process of moving on to a better life, but I am keeping it on life support, it kind of hates me.

So how do you think they turned out? I really love them!! What's cute is my son will probably be looking at them funny in the morning, and he always pushes on my nails like he is trying to smoosh them when I have a design on ;) He is so cute :D

So anyway from my thumb moving to the right I'll tell ya what colors I used.

OPI- play till midnight- gorgeous dark purple, but in the light has a lighter purple shimmer
OPI- the color to watch- so pretty! needed about 3 coats to get it the color it is though
ESSIE- sexy divide- and sexy is right! this deep purple is beautiful!
SINFUL COLORS- verbena- creamy lighter purple, beautiful for the summer
CHINA GLAZE- senorita bonita- holy crap I'm in love! Best part? I got it for $1.99 on discount at Sallys!

The green for the stems and middle finger grapes is China Glaze starboard, and the white dots are Finger Paints paper mache.

I hope your mouth is watering after seeing my nails! It sure does make me want some juice...or wine ;)

Happy painting!
