Summer Fun Challenge, Hot Hot Hot!!!

Hey guys! Today I have post 4 of the Summer Fun nail art Challenge from Lindsey over at Neverland Nail Blog. I just like last time had an idea that I ended up changing because well, it would have been pretty much impossible since I don't have a mirror polish lol

So for today's challenge I did started with a base coat of white, and did a gradient from yellow to red, the red turned out more pink because of the white base, but I'm okay with that! Yellow I used Zoya Pippa, Orange I used Essie Orange It's Obvious, and the Red is OPI The Color of Minnie. I then used one coat of OPI DS Shimmer (my pointer ended up with a thicker coat) to make my hot gradient sparkle!

I then used ManGlaze Matte is Murder with a nail art brush to draw on the flames, and filled it in with a dotting tool, hence why it's kind of lumpy. I wanted this contrast because I thought it would be awesome! Holo flames and matte black mmmm.

Summer Fun Challenge, Pool Party!

Hey guys! Back with post 3 of the Neverland Nail Blog's summer fun challenge! This time it's pool party! This had a few idea running through my mind, of course the first being the water, but since I didn't think I could do it, and then Michelle from Sonoma Nail Art did some water like I planned so I changed it up again!!

Since I just went through all of my polish this weekend (those of you that have liked my FB page probably already knew that) I had all my colors separated out on my table which made it easy to find blues that I was interested in using. My original plan was to do a yellow polka dot bikini, a duck floatie, and a beach ball on the blues...but once again changed my mind!

I used China Glaze custom kicks, Finger Paints blue raspberry taffy and Deborah Lippmann let's hear it for the boy, as well as a generic white to do a water marble and boy oh boy am I happy with it! I then used the same white, Zoya Meg, Kimber and Carly on the beach ball. I at first didn't have it outlined and me thinking "oh let's try and make it better!" didn't improve it lol...it looked better without the black outline but I think you can still tell what it is!

Onto the pics! Sorry about the lack of my light box, there is still polish all over my nail table!

Summer Fun Challenge, Summer Lovin!

Hey guys! Here today with post 2 of Lindsey from Neverland Nail Blogs summer fun challenge! Each of these is called a "day" but it will be all spaced out over a few weeks time :)

So "day 2" is summer lovin, anything lovey dovey type stuff, but I wanted to go just a little bit of a different route with the same theme. I googled images to find my inspiration, and when I saw the picture (will be down below) I just it was what I *had* to do!!

So colors, once again I used Deborah Lippmann's Let's Hear it for the Boy as my blue base, I then sponged Zoya Zuza randomly over it to give some dimensions like the sky, followed by white for the clouds. The dark green of my watermelon rind is Julep Emilie, the lightest green of the rind is OPI Who the Shrek Are You? and the middle green is the two mixed together. For the pink I used OPI If You Moust You Moust, and sponged just a little bit of OPI The Color of Minnie over it once again just for some dimension, and finally the brown for the seeds is Kleancolor Espresso.

At the end I only had the heart in the watermelon (I used a dotting tool to make the outline of it then just filled in the outside), and I wanted more hearts that weren't so obvious. Both my pinky and my pointer already had the outlines of hearts just from how I sponged (no I didn't plan it lol) so I just added a little more to define the heart just a bit more with a dotting tool, and tada I was done!

I am seriously in love with this mani, summer love!! Everyone knows watermelon is a yummy summer treat that most people love, and who doesn't love a blue sky with fluffy white clouds?

Summer Fun Challenge, Grill Master!

Hey guys!!! Today I start with a summer nail art challenge from Lindsey over at Neverland Nail Blog. Although the pic of the challenges say day 1 etc, this will be spaced out over about a month or so.

Day 1, or challenge one was "grill master", it took me what seemed like forever to figure out something to do, and now after seeing Lindsey's post it's a bit funny because ours are similar! I decided not to go strictly with food, but a BBQ in general! I used a ton of colors, but as the blue background for my sunny summer day I used Deborah Lippmann Let's Hear it for the Boy. A lot of the other colors I had to mix to get the shades I was looking for, but if you'd like to know what I used let me know! :D

So here's the challenge

And here are my pics for day 1! I did a few layers of sponging on my thumb to make it look like a char-grilled burger patty, my pointer has the iconic Webber round red grill, middle and ring fingers have a nice bright sun, some puffy clouds and a picnic table, and finally on my ring finger is a hot dog with mustard, onions and relish...mmm mmm mmm!

Holo Hump Day!

Hey guys! Here today with another PLOP challenge. This time we had holo hump day. So anything holographic :D I decided I wanted to do something a little bit different. So instead of just painting my nails I did a Chalkboard Nails design that Sarah is calling a "ruffled" mani. It's super cute! On my ring finger I did an accent nail of a gradient with the same colors used with my ruffles and free handed some zebra stripes.

So why the accent nail and why these colors? Well I saw a shirt in Walmart that gave me inspiration (pic below). I didn't use white in the gradient because well I just didn't heh, but I did use white in the ruffles. This did take a while since each ruffle is done with a dotting tool, but I love the final look of it.

On my ring finger I used a white base before sponging the gradient on. All my other nails I started with a base of China Glaze GR8, then used white, L8R G8R and DV8 as my other ruffle colors. I just did them in a pattern of GR8, DV8, L8R G8R, white and repeat.

Pretty & Polished day 5, Swing!

Hey guys! Day 5, as in the last day of my Pretty & Polished posts *womp womp* :( Today's post is about Swing, an oh my gosh I have have have to have you polish. For my newer readers, my favorite color is pink, so there is NO such thing as too much of it for me. So when Sarah from Chalkboard Nails posted about Swing I was like "gahhhhh!!!"

Now it's supposed to be a red jelly, but it's never really looked red to me, I see it as a hot pink, maybe just because my eyes aren't huge fans of red? Hm...yea no idea. But none the less this is a gorgeous polish!  It's a jelly base, which means different depths of glitter, which is oh so lovely! I'm going to admit I had an issue getting the bigger glitters out BUT and I say that with caps, it was all my fault! I left this polish in the "I need to be added to your stash list but you just wait too long so you put me in here with the others that need to be on the list too" basket. It was on it's side so all the huge lovely hex glitters were like, we are just gonna take a nap over here on the side, k? And I was NOT patient enough to wait until the morning to wear this beauty!

So after my rambling, we had a red jelly base that looks hot pink to me, it has white, silver and black glitters in different sizes through out. I used two coats and a top coat and I am seriously in love. I do think this is my favorite of the polishes I own of Chelsea's this far.

What do you guys think? Which one of the 5 I've posted was your favorite?

Until next time! Happy painting!

Pretty & Polished day 3, Elvis's Pink Cadillac!

Hey guys, day 3 here we go! Today we have Elvis's Pink Cadillac. Here's a picture of the real deal for those of you that are curious ;)

This polish isn't like anything else I've seen, just like all of the polishes Chelsea over at Pretty & Polished makes. It't a pale pink with micro black glitter, and black hex glitter as well. I liked it in the bottle but was afraid the pink would wash me out since I'm so pale! But I was super happy to see it worked well with me :D

This is two coats, although one seemed to do the trick I wanted to make sure I was good to go coverage wise!

Pretty & Polished day 2, Sand Art!

Hey guys! Day 2 of Pretty & Polished polishes, and today we have Sand Art. So I realize some of you may have had deprived childhoods and not even know what sand art is, so I'll link you to give you an idea! Most of the time it's stuff like this. Growing up at the beach I'm very familiar with it, so seeing Chelsea's polish I just had to have it!

Because this polish is jam-packed with micro matte glitters it is very thick, I don't mind it because I love the outcome, but I know some people are picky about that. In order to get a full coverage with what I saw as no bare spots I used three coats, and a top coat. Let me tell you it took forever to dry and I had some dents in them as well, whoops.

So here's what you came for!

Pretty & Polished indie week! Day 1 Party on my Yacht!

Hey guys! I know I know, I've been MIA, and no real reason why, just been busy. BUT as an I'm sorry I'm doing 5 days of Pretty & Polished polishes! Some of you know of Chelsea already, but if you don't make sure to check out her blog and Etsy page!

I was lucky enough to get in on a recent pre-sale, and I ordered 5 polishes, I wanted more but didn't think the old man would be too happy with me ;)

Day one is starting with Party on my Yacht. This is two coats and a top coat. It's a white base with small purple, green and gold glitters, right up the New Orleans alley! It went on easy in the two coats, but was a HUGE pita to get off just like any other glitter is, but since I have acrylic overlays now I can't use acetone *womp womp* yep I'm over it now ;)

 Onto the pics!
