My baby boy is one today!

My baby boy is one year old today, so I want to share my birth story, I just copied and pasted this from the original time I wrote it, I cannot believe it has been a year!

Sunday afternoon and night, I kept getting dizzy and noticed a bunch of swelling in my ankles, so it made me nervous enough for us to go to L&D. We got to the hospital a little before midnight, I told the nurse what was going on, she asked about the NST's that I had been having too. We let her know that Friday around 6pm I was about 2 1/2cm and 70% effaced, so she checked me, she told us we were now at a good 5cm and still 70%. Contractions were coming every 3 minutes and lasting between 60-90 seconds each.

Doc decided to admit us into our own room because they felt like I was in active labor. Once into a labor room and out of triage, my contractions kept up. Around 3:40am I needed to pee, so I got up to go to the bathroom, after using the restroom I stood up and had a trickle of water, I just thought I peed myself lol...I let the nurse know and went back to the bed. As soon as I got into bed my water broke! (big gush...talk about a weird feeling!!) I ended up having 3 big gushes total starting at 3:45am.

After my water broke the contractions became hell!! Before I was still at 5cm, by 6:00 am I was in so much pain that I asked for the Epi (I know I wanted natural but I know what I can handle...and there was NO way!) At this point I was already at 8cm. At 6:20am the Epi got placed, and honestly it didn't hurt like I thought it would!

They made me take out my belly ring and monroe piercing (my monroe is now closed *pout*) at 6:45, and at 7:05 baby mama showed up! Once the Epi kicked in I felt much better, and the nurses couldn't hear me in the hall anymore haha. I ended up getting a few short naps in. At 8:40am they checked me again and I was at a full 10cm, 100% effaced, but Brendan was only at a zero station. They decided to give me some pitocin to make the contractions stronger to get him further into the birth canal so I could begin to push.

12:10pm I started to push, and the Epi had just been stopped. I was okay at first and was told by the nurse that I was doing a great job pushing. About 30 minutes later I was in a ton of pain and couldn't focus on pushing good anymore, so they turned the Epi back up, but only enough to make some of the pain go away. Dave, Andrea, my nurse Donna (who was awesome!!!) and the Doc all said I was doing a great job pushing! My love Dave was also doing a great job coaching me!

At 1:50pm Brendan Patrick Watkins was welcomed into our world!!! *tear* <3 My little man was placed on my chest for some bonding time for about 45 minutes, he was grunting quite a bit at first so they wanted me to have more time with him to see if it improved before doing his vitals. After the chest to chest time, I breastfed him for the first time and he did great!!! After he was done we found out that he was 7lbs 2oz and was 19.5 inches long! Brendan is doing great, he is an awesome eater (that sounds weird lol) and doesn't have much problem latching, once in a while I need to readjust but it's not too bad Me on the other hand...eh...yea hes got a big head so I had/have a second degree perineum tear, and I also have a second tear right beside my urethra, so ouchy for me! All in all I am the happiest woman ever! I have the two best boys in the world and couldn't be happier!! <3 <3 <3

adventures in finger paint

Dave and I decided we wanted to get some finger paints so that we could make some new wall art for Brendan's new playroom. We went into the back yard this afternoon and went at it :D The first one was planned, the second one was just a mess of having lots of fun! I love how both of them turned out, and cannot wait to hang them up!

On a down side I wanted to kill my dog Cooper, he scratched the ever loving life out of my brand new tattoo, and I'm not sure I could have screamed louder, funny thing was just a few minutes later I heard a police car...good thing they didn't show up here!

Anyway Brendan did pretty good, and only tried to eat the paint once, until he tasted it and was like "ummm no thanks" lol

Here are a few pics :)

tattoos help heal the soul

I have always loved tattoos, I got my first one when I was 19, a tramp stamp of course, what else would you do at such a young age? Well here I am 8 years later with 10 total, once of which I have been wanting to change up for years.

After I got married to what is now my ex, I wanted a tattoo to symbolize a new beginning, so I decided on a koi fish, and stupidly I decided to get our wedding date under it. Yea smooth move exlax is what I was thinking...but oh well.

Today me boyfriend and I decided to go into a shop to speak to an artist about what we want to do for the tattoos for our son, well we ended up staying and getting tattoos, and not even the ones we went in to talk about, figures right?

The reminder of my ex douche is now officially gone! And I love what is in his place <3

I'll leave you with the before and after pictures of mine, and my boyfriends tattoos :D

a monkey nibbling a penis is funny in any language

best line ever!!

Seriously though, the Hangover 2 was pretty funny, pretty much the same story line with different things happening, but eh.

On the down side I could have dealt with seeing less man lady penis...forreals, remind me not to go hunting for a hot chick in Bangkok, she will probably in fact have a kok....yea....

what the crap

Okay so I know it's 2011, but who would have thought bean bag chairs would be so hard to find?? Ten years ago you could have gotten them anywhere and now I feel like I'm on a wild goose hunt, without a gun...

In other news I called my boyfriends cousin tonight to see if she could hang out at the house while our son is sleeping so we can go to a movie. She tells me her dad is in the hospital. Okay picture this, a man who is a chronic drinker and smoker, who just recently had a heart attack, got it? So he decided to get on a mini bike, evidentially went over the top, and landed on his face. Not such good news, but she (his daughter) and I agree it was dumb of him to do such a thing. No one will know anything until the morning, but as of now we know he has a broken nose and some brain bleeding :/ Sounds like a great Saturday right? Someone should junk punch the kid that brought that shit to his house, for serious.

So we will be going to see the Hangover 2 tonight, wish us luck! This will only be our third, yes third time out together without our son, should be interesting.

Night!

Wii of my dreams

So as I've been on this new workout routine and been counting calories I have now become obsessed with weighing myself. Too bad every scale I have bought recently sucks at life, that being said my Wii is very happy to see me again! The past three days I have weighed in with my Wii Fit and been down .9, for three days in a row...yes I know that's amazing and I know how awesome I am...but Wii ohh Wii could I possibly just see 1.0 instead of .9? That would be awesome, thanks Wii, I love you :)

First day, testing the waters.

Taking the advice of a friend, I said what the hell, I'll go for it. The worst that can happen is no one reads this right? eh that's not too bad.

Today marks the official end of the Spring semester at COS. Thank God! The semester seemed longer than an elephant's pregnancy to be matter of fact. Somehow I managed to continue kicking ass and taking names, with 4 As and 1 B. Some days I honestly have no idea how I do it. The summer should prove to be interesting, the heat here causes you to want to be inside, otherwise you feel like you will melt like the wicked witch of the west, but if you're down for that, be my guest, be my guest, be my guest. It wouldn't be so bad if we had more than one car *sigh* so now I'm going to have to figure out what to do for the entire summer to keep myself and my son entertained without needing to wear a straight jacket. Any suggestions? Any at all?

On a good note, my son's first birthday party was this past weekend, other than lame people with even lamer (is that even a word?) excuses we had a good time. I cannot believe he will be one on the 31st. I feel like I was just pregnant, going into L&D once a week freaking out thinking I was in labor...I never was :P He still amazes me everyday, I still can't wrap my head around the fact that I made that, he is part of me and always will be. Makes my heart happy :) Those of you that don't have kids won't understand. Think of it as watching your favorite sports team, go from no one knowing who they are, watching them fall and pick themselves up again, only to become the best team ever (in your opinion anyway) it's kind of like that.

For now I'll leave you with a picture that the friend that inspired me to start a blog took at my son's party this past weekend. Cute right?
