Green Ruffian, Happy St. Patrick's Day!

Hey guys! Happy St. Patrick's Day! Everyone is Irish today, so go have a beer, wine, or liquor of your choice, (those that are of age of course) and make sure to wear green so you don't get pinched!

Today I'm getting on the bandwagon of the ruffian style nails. Instead of just doing the two colors I took it further and I've used 6 different greens for this one! A few of my fellow bloggers have done these recently, so I cannot say that I came up with the idea on my own!

I honestly didn't realize I had as many greens as I do until I was looking through them to do this mani :P I'll start with the very bottom layer (the one closest to my cuticle) and work my way down.

Milani- 511 hi-tech
China Glaze- starboard
China Glaze- he's going in circles
Snowman polish- green
China Glaze- paper chasing
China Glaze- entourage

I freehanded all of these with just the polish brush, so they are not perfect by any means but I think they look pretty good! Oh and my light box isn't big enough for all the polishes so you see the sides of it lol whoops!

Watercolor Nails for St. Patrick's Day!

Hey guys! Here today with a new technique that I've seen around recently, called watercolor! What is it you ask? It's actually pretty easy, paint your nails a base color and add a top coat, use whatever colors you want for the watercolor and put small drops of paint on your nails and right away use a brush and drop some 100% acetone on them, the color will spread out. I smeared mine around a little bit too, but that's the jist of it :)

So just like a lot of my other St. Patrick's Day manis, I started with a base of white, two coats. Using China Glaze polishes, paper chasing, entourage and papaya punch I did the watercolor. It looked really good before I added the orange, but I was eh about it after, I tried adding a bit more green and it looked okay. I'll try it some other time with spring colors :D One of the girls in PLOP Sarah, from Chalkboard Nails said it looks like camo lol! She has done a few of these too, so check out her blog!

Anyway on with the pics! Oh and yea the boo-boo on my pointer finger? Yea idk how I did it, but I tripped and hit it with a nail on my right hand...yea it hurt :P

Green Water Marble for St. Patty's Day!

Hey guys! Here today with another marble! I think this is maybe the third I have done in the past month? I've been experimenting more with it, and since I've done it a few times now it's gotten easier and easier :) Practice makes perfect right?

I used three green China Glaze polishes for this marble, we have entourage, paper chasing and starboard. I just randomly placed them in the water each time then swirled with the manicure stick. It's relatively easy if you are patient and have the right polishes. China Glaze have seemed to be the best for me, what have been the best for you?

I did start with one coat of white before dipping my nails into the water, and I'm pretty pleased with how the three greens mixed together. I did the three greens for St. Patrick's Day :)

What do you think? Which finger is your favorite? Mine is the pinky I think :)

Holographic clovers!

Hey guys! Another St. Patrick's Day inspired mani. I'm seriously having a hard time coming up with things :P But I dug through my polishes looking for greens and I just had to use my L8R G8R! It was untired too, so even better!

I used three coats of China Glaze L8R G8R (it was too streaky with only two) which is one of the polishes in the OMG collection. I'm lucky enough to have all of them! Then I just drew some random clovers in different sizes on my nails in white with a nail dotting tool. Topped them each off with a dark green rhinestone in the middle of each clover. And tada! Easy peasy lemon squeezy as Austin Powers would say ;)

Leprechauns, Clovers and Rainbows, ooooh my!!

Hey guys! Happy Friday! I know I broke the pattern a little yesterday just doing a spring mani, but I had brain farted a bit on St. Patrick's Day ideas! Today I figured out something to do ;)

I started out with two coats of Zoya Robyn and went from there, I honestly don't know if you guys want me to name every single color I used, heh, but if you want to know one in particular just ask and I'll let ya know ;)

Blue for St. Patty's Day you say? Why yes kind sir! I didn't want to stick with the green everyone does, so I figured a good sky blue behind a rainbow and things would work out well too :) I did my cute little leprechaun first, followed by the four leaf clover and rainbow with pot of gold. I started off just doing green with the four leaf clover then decided to do gold around it...I should have stopped while I was ahead, ha. I'm not sure you can really tell what it is?

Anyway I'll stop jabbering and leave you with the pictures!

Lucky Nails!

Hey guys! Here today with some more St. Patrick's Day inspired nail art :) This one is also super easy for anyone to do, which is always a plus too!

I started with two coats of white, then using Kleancolor neon green and a dotting tool I made little four leaf clovers on each nail, I then used China Glaze papaya punch and a long skinny nail art brush to brush on three small stripes of orange from the left side of my nails, using a dotting tool again I used Orly gold rush to make 7 gold dots (or gold coins) from the orange stripes around the clovers, I tried starting them bigger and making them smaller. And last but not least I covered it all with China Glaze fairy dust (aka leprechaun dust this month).

I did the four leaf clovers on purpose, but didn't realize I had done 7 gold dots until afterward, then it dawned on me! Lucky nails! Maybe I'll have some luck with this mani ;)

Argyle Sweater Anyone?

Hey guys! Who likes argyle sweaters? I do! I wanted to try out a stamp I haven't used before and thought this one was too cute! Irish inspired sweater nails for St. Patrick's Day!

I started with diagonal lines of China Glaze papaya punch and Kleancolor neon green, I used white for the stamp and topped with OPI text me text you, which you can't see in the pictures *pout*. I did smear the white a bit by using the OPI but you still get the drift :P I thought it was really cute, I just wish my white was more opaque for stamping, any good recommendations?

Irish Polka Dots

Hey guys! Here today with another St. Patrick's Day inspired mani. Super easy and quick to do! All you need is a few colors and some dotting tools (which could be bobby pins, or toothpicks) and you're good to go!

I started with two coats of Kleancolor neon green, and used a white and China Glaze papaya punch for the polka dots by using different sizes of dotting tools, overlapping a few here and there. I wanted to top it all off with the spectraflare topcoat I got in my secret swap, but it changed the color too much (I'll show a picture at the end) so I ended up 86ing that.

Another problem I have with my white is it tends to get stringy quick with nail art brushes or dotting tools, anyone have any ideas why it does that? Or have a recommendation on a good white?

See the spectraflare topcoat as beautiful as it is just changed the color too much, so I took it off, but other than that I loved this one :)

Got a little Irish in ya?

Hey guys! Today I'm here to show my inner Irish! I actually am Irish, my family originates from Northern Ireland from what I've been able to find so far. I have "Irish" tattooed on my right ankle and I also have four leaf clovers tattooed on my right foot :)

This was super quick and easy to do! The green (which is amazing!) is Sinful Colors Irish green, it's in a  display at Walgreens right now, along with green ocean ;) The orange is China Glaze papaya punch, then just a plane ol white. The gold is Orly gold rush.

With the "flag" nails I just swiped on two coats of each color in the lines, the solid nails are two coats of Irish green. Using a nail dotting tool I made four little hearts with the gold then connected them and added a stem. I finished off with one coat of China Glaze fairy dust, but for now we will call it leprechaun dust! ;)
